Tolucan Times Header Make Your Own Music: Give the Gift that Gives Back

When you think of your future, what do you imagine? Will you be wealthy? Will you have children, a loving spouse? Will you work a job that rewards you in many ways?

It may be difficult, in these financially stretched times, to imagine life flowing in a harmonious and peaceful direction. One thing will not change. If we want good health, we must invest in habits that encourage wellness of body, mind, and, of course, spirit.

In the days before radio, movies, television, computers, and Ipods, there were parlours and pianos, porches, banjos and guitars. People learned to dance, tell jokes and stories, play an instrument. Families entertained one another after the dinner hour, relaxing, singing, storytelling.

Feef Mooney’s Music For Life is a company set up for individuals who want to be a creative part of their own history. If you like to sing, would like to play guitar, bass, or begin playing piano/keyboard, it is Feef’s job to be your friend in the sometimes intimidating process of getting started. You will be completely looked after, in a one-on-one setting, where learning is structured according to your needs. If you’re in a musical rut, look to Feef to pull you out!

Harvard-educated, Mooney is also a performer, writer and session guitarist. Signed to Herb Alpert’s private company, Rondor Music, Feef has written, published and performed professionally. She is currently finishing “A Girl’s Guitar Guide,” and welcomes clients age 15 to 95, to embark on a musical journey. Learn an instrument. Study songwriting. Record. Prepare to perform.

Invest in what will benefit you for the rest of your life. Make your own music. This is the gift that forever gives back.

"I've known Feef since , oh, well, a long time... What followed: her time with Cally in "The Refugees", crisscrossing the country with a guitar and an overnight bag, and laterally in an estate car with future spouse Frankie"Frantanna" Mooney!!

The early songs, and EP's: "girlfriend" , "Sweet Cool" and "Big Time" remain in constant rotation on my ipod playlists...I even have a Radioheadthebends/Feef mix..That's an interesting one!!! even after all this time "Ghost of a chance" remains a brilliant gem of melody and meaning...Thanks for playing it to me that one last time down Leith way during the Edinburgh festival Feef!

Nearly everybody who writes and plays music wishes secretly to be a famous or, at very least make some impact upon the music scene. Yet so fewpeople have the strength, the stamina, and the talent to make a living from music and still have their integrity, beliefs and product remain untainted at the other side of all the spin, and assorted nonsense. Feef is one of those "Few".

I'll always be a fan of her music. Heck, I'll always be a fan of her! Keep blogging Feef, we might yet just change the World! (or get put away for sedition!)

Your friend far away in Thailand,
Mike

I've been friends with, and have worked with Feef and Frankie Mooney on and off for over a decade. Feef is a pleasure to work with, hang out with and jam with. She is not only an excellent and very original guitarist, she is a seasoned songwriter. She has the very rare talent for being able to switch genres and still keep it soulful. Unlike many songwriters, she writes from her heart and from her soul, and she doesn't jump the corporate shark by being just another 'Mickey Mouse' kiddy pop tunesmith. Passion and integrity. That's what makes this Lass special.

My name is Jimmy Hutton, and I am a singer/songwriter living in Hollywood, CA

Upon my return from living in Dublin, Ireland I had the good fortune to meet and work with Fjaere Mooney as a client of hers in the Music For Life Program which she owns and operates in the NoHo Arts District.

We worked together between the years 2001 to 2005. We met every Wednesday for those years I've just mentioned.

Our working relationship consisted of us recording songs in her studio; which I had written.

Together we created numerous demo CDs and also fully produced tracks on at least two songs.

She was incredibly supportive thru out the entire process; all the way from concept to finished tracks.

Out of those sessions I personally learned many valuable lessons; and, the knowledge that I gained through working along side her still serves me well to this day.

I found Fjaere a joy to work with and I was truly amazed at the catalogue of reference musical material that she has committed to memory, I would merely have to mention a song or a sound for a reference point and she was right there with me and intuitively understood what it was I was going for.

I was never once disappointed and we had many in depth discussions about music from a number of different era's and genre's.

Her musicianship is of the highest caliber as well and she proved to be a extremely valuable asset while playing various instruments on a number of my tracks.

I found Fjaere to be very well connected in the music scene here in Los Angeles; she also arranged for other top players to lend their talents in regards to recording a couple of my tracks.

So, if you are ready to work with a real pro and get your music developed all the way from raw concept to finished recording; Fjaere Mooney comes highly recommended by myself!

Fjaere; you have my sincere thanks!

Respectfully Yours,
Jimmy Hutton
